My little family of gamers

When I started this blog 8 years ago, I was the single mother of an 8-year-old girl whom I had already introduced to Minecraft and The Sims 4. At that time, she was also enjoying exploring the gorgeous world of The Witcher 3 in my completed game. She's a teenager now and spent this past summer playing Baldur's Gate 3 - when not working at McDonald's. :) It seems she's tried every possible variation of characters and story outcomes in that game that she was interested in, and since school resumed, she's been playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

I've already mentioned my partner* a few times in this blog and how she has become a gamer since we've been together. She's also playing Clair Obscur these days and is actually ahead of me in the game.

And now it's time to mention the latest addition to our little family, my partner's son who was born in 2022. Living with us, he doesn't have much choice in being exposed to video games. :) He's 3 years old now, and his mother allows him 20 to 30 minutes of screen time a day, which he sometimes chooses to spend watching "the warriors" fight or "the lost kitty" trying to find its way back to its friends. "The warriors" is how he's referring to BG3 characters, and he loves watching me play a battle with them. Stray is the game I'm using to teach him to use a controller.

*I've decided to start referring to her as "my partner" instead of "my girlfriend" to indicate the seriousness of our relationship and the fact that we are now way too old to be called "girls." :)
